Which Black Sea resorts stay alive out of season

The difference between a resort and a town is decisive if you intend to live in the property for more than two months a year. Sunny Beach, Golden Sands and Albena are entirely seasonal. From October to May much of the infrastructure is closed.

Pomorie, Nesebar, Sozopol, Balchik and Kavarna are towns with a permanent population, with schools, pharmacies and shops working all year. Varna and Burgas are a category of their own: there the property is an urban one and the sea is a bonus.

If you are buying to let, the seasonality works in your favour: a property in Sunny Beach earns more over a shorter period. If you are buying to live in, look to the towns.
